it was to be, reaching sky-high,
blazing in whiteness,
illuminated by an everlasting
orange sun
But it turned out to be rest,
a small body in white resting
on the concrete sidewalk,
twice on consecutive days

it rises on effortless wings,
it spreads in soothing waves
both major and minor,
it gains momentum,
it turns with the Earth,
it is at once reflected by the clouds
and transcends them, reaching the Sun,
reaching infinity,
it connects the ones specifically included
and touches everyone else
in love, forgiveness, tolerance.
