New Year’s Eve 2008 went by without a resolution on my part.
In fact, I had not even attempted to come up with one.
Despite the icy rain on the cobblestone streets of Tübingen and great difficulty not to slip and fall on one’s duff, it wasn’t a bad evening at all – in fact, it was a great one with an excellent Indian dinner in a stylish restaurant followed by a wonderful klezmer-inspired jazz concert, chai instead of champagne to hail the new year at midnight – because I still had to drive home – and the usual viewing of “Dinner for One”.
But no resolution, not even a thought about one.
So that I was delighted that a fortune cookie bought tonight on a whim at the Asia Wok supplied one:
An emptiness is going to be filled up.
