Sometimes …

… a dislike button would come in very handy.

Note
As we all know, the only form of appreciation provided in social media is praise, be it as a thumbs up button or a heart icon.

I sometimes wonder whether this hasn’t led to a minimization of critical abilities – everything has become awesome, to use that favorite Californian statement of quality.

Whatever happened to calling a spade a spade?

I can already hear some comments coming, like duh, you’re just a negative stick-in-the-mud.

But, in all honesty, I can simply not bring myself to like a true spade – and sometimes, just sometimes, NOT clicking the Like button simply does not seem to be enough.

You make a very good point. But we live in a culture that now gives trophies just for showing up to play. So, of course there’s only a “like” button.

“culture that now gives trophies just for showing up to play” – great statement of reality! Long live inflation 🙂
